Our Impact

The planned giving industry has grown in every conceivable way since PG Calc was founded in 1985, whether it be the sheer number of programs, the number and size of the planned gifts they’ve received, or the sophistication and efficiency of the process.  With all due modesty, it gives us enormous pride to know that we have been an important contributor to the development of the industry.

There are four areas in particular in which we believe our contributions have played a meaningful role in shaping planned giving.

Industry leadership
From day one, members of PG Calc have served on the boards of both national planned giving associations and local and regional boards and councils. Over our history, 10 members of our firm have held leadership positions on local NCPG councils. At the national level, Frank Minton has led both NCPG and ACGA, and Gary Pforzheimer served as the Chair of PPP throughout 2009.

Software and services
PG Calc is widely credited with being among a small group of companies that revolutionized the methods by which planned gift calculations are made. The company was started with the simple idea that good fundraisers should spend more time doing fund raising and less time doing math, and that has been a core value ever since. Planned Giving Manager, our calculations and proposals software package, has been a fixture of successful planned giving programs for more than 20 years.

Knowledge sharing
Members of PG Calc have contributed greatly to the know-how of planned giving professionals in a wide variety of ways. Whether it be through published articles and papers, speeches at conferences, or consultation to individual programs, we’ve shared our knowledge about planned giving with literally tens of thousands of its practitioners.

Government relations

From arguing the merits in Congress of fair calculations of CLUTs, to being part of the team that helped fix the Texas Gift Annuity lawsuit, to negotiating gift annuity reserve policy with New York State Department of Insurance, members of PG Calc have shared our expertise with government regulators to, we believe, the benefit of the overall industry.

Our Mission
We seek to support our thousands of clients with expertise and excellence in products and services for charitable gift planning and planned gift administration. We value every opportunity to respond readily and flexibly to them so that the needs of their programs can be met. At the same time, we strive to create a personal relationship and to work in partnership with every client for the benefit of his or her organization's own mission.
