Frank Minton — Senior Advisor
Frank Minton is a thoroughly accomplished planned giving expert. Frank founded Planned Giving Services, a consulting firm that built an exceptional national reputation and was acquired by PG Calc in August 2005.
Before entering consulting in January 1991, he spent ten and one-half years with the University of Washington, where he served as Director of Planned Giving and Executive Director of Development. Previously he served as Senior Estate Planning Officer and Field Director at Northwestern University, and was for six years a professor at Muskingum College in Ohio. He received M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Chicago.
Dr. Minton has played a most critical role in shaping the planned giving industry as we know it today. He has served both as conference chair and President of the National Committee on Planned Giving, a nationwide organization of gift planning professionals. In 1992 he received its Distinguished Service Award. He is an extensively recognized expert on gift annuities and has served as Chair of the American Council on Gift Annuities. He has also received a CASE (Council for the Advancement and Support of Education) Distinguished Service Award, the David Donaldson Distinguished Service Award from the Planned Giving Group of New England, and was the first recipient of the Outstanding Development Officer Award from the Northwest Development Officers Association.
He is a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences and has authored many booklets and articles on planned giving topics. He is the principal author of Charitable Gift Annuities: The Complete Resource Manual and is co-author of Planned Giving for Canadians (Second Edition, 1997). A number of his presentations have been to Canadian audiences, and in 1997, he received the “Friend of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners” award. He is on the advisory board of Planned Giving Today, and is a member of the Seattle Estate Planning Council and the Washington Planned Giving Council.
Jeff Lydenberg — Vice President, Consulting
Jeff is a planned giving consultant to non-profits large and small in a variety of industries. In that role he has advised planned giving programs on staffing and development of policies and procedures, trained boards and planned giving staff on planned gift design, created planned giving marketing plans, and designed marketing materials for planned giving programs.
Jeff has also played a critical role in supporting the PG Calc’s clients in their use of Planned Giving Manager and GiftWrap. He is the lead trainer on use of Planned Giving Manager gift proposal software.
Prior to entering the field of planned giving, Jeff practiced law for 6 years with the Cleveland-based law firm of Thompson, Hine and Flory in its Cincinnati office.
Jeff's planned giving career began at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1995 where he was the Assistant Director of Planned Giving for five years. He also worked in a similar capacity at the Cleveland Foundation. Jeff has a BA in American Studies from Kent State University and a JD from Case Western Reserve School of Law.
Jeff is a frequent speaker at local, regional and national planned giving groups. In October 2007 he presented a session on “Recognizing Planned Gift Potential in Donors” to the National Committee on Planned Giving. He has presented to planned giving councils around the country on gift annuities, bequests programs, estate planning for gift planners, creative uses of planned gifts and a wide variety of other estate planning and gift planning topics. He is the former programming chair for the Planned Giving Group of New England. He is currently a member of the Greater Cincinnati Planned Giving Council. He is a featured speaker on PG Calc’s nationally broadcasted Webinar gift planning seminars.
Bill Zook — Vice President, Director of Seattle Office
Prior to becoming a consultant, Bill practiced estate planning law, and he has considerable experience in the nonjudicial resolution of disputes, primarily through mediation and arbitration. His background encompasses not only the practice of law but also significant involvement in the public and nonprofit sectors.
Bill has helped to establish dozens of charitable remainder trusts, along with charitable gift annuities, charitable bequests, and other gift arrangements. In addition, he has counseled clients — a diverse group of charities, including some of the nation’s most widely recognized institutions — regarding the operation of their planned giving programs.
Bill frequently speaks on charitable estate planning and related topics. He has also contributed articles for Planned Giving Today, and he is on the National Board of Gift-Planning Consultants for its sister publication, Planned Giving Mentor. Moreover, he is the principal author of portions of Charitable Gift Annuities: The Complete Resource Manual. Bill is a past President of the Washington Planned Giving Council and a member of the Estate Planning Council of Seattle.
A member of the Washington State Bar Association, Bill is a 1985 graduate of the University of the Washington School of Law. He earned his B.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Virginia in 1979.

Edith Matulka — Senior Consultant
Edith (Edie) has primary responsibility for assisting charities in complying with state regulations for issuance of gift annuities. She is the primary author of certain chapters of Charitable Gift Annuities: The Complete Resource Manual and also worked on the development of our gift annuity agreement forms, which are integrated in PG Calc’s software. In addition to the practice of law, Edie’s background includes work in government, public, and nonprofit settings.
A member of the Washington and Oregon State Bar Associations, Edie graduated from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon and earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Washington.
Edie is a prominent speaker on gift annuities and state regulation, having spoken at the Washington Planned Giving Council and American Council on Gift Annuities conferences. She currently serves on the State Regulations Committee of the ACGA.

Alison O'Carroll — Consultant
Alison O’Carroll joined PG Calc Incorporated in 2006. In addition to the practice of law, her background includes work in private business, government, and nonprofit settings.
A member of the Washington State Bar Association, Alison is a 1989 graduate of the Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia. At the same time, she obtained a Masters in Business Administration at the Emory University Goizueta Business School. Alison earned her B.A. in Economics from the Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California (formerly known as Claremont Men’s College).
After practicing commercial real estate law at a large law firm in Atlanta, Alison made the transition to the nonprofit sector. She joined CARE, Inc., in 1993 as a Planned Giving Officer. Over the course of several years, Alison managed a portfolio of planned giving donors and prospects, closing many complex gifts including charitable remainder trusts and other life-income plans. In addition, Alison was responsible for creating the CARE recognition society for planned giving donors and oversaw centralized functions of the Planned Giving Office such as planning, marketing, and financial relations.
Most recently, Alison served as the Director of Development at the University of Washington School of Public Health and Community Medicine. In that role she broadened her expertise in all areas of development as well as continued her planned giving work.
Ann McPherson — Marketing Consultant
Ann joined PG Calc as Vice President of Business and Strategic Development. In this role, Ann focused on establishing strategic partnerships, providing guidance to corporate strategy exploration, and identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
Ann’s decision to move into a Marketing Consultant role was initiated by her own extensive background and the industry’s need for strong marketing experience and expertise. Armed with a considerable background in Internet marketing, business development, and brand management, Ann’s contribution to marketing strategy and tactical implementation to clients is invaluable. She has held senior management positions in the Internet divisions of Inc. Magazine, Hill Holiday Advertising, and Lotus Development Corporation.
Ann graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Salem State College and obtained her MBA at Simmons.
Julie Goldenberg — Executive Administrator
Julie joined PG Calc Incorporated in 2008. She graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 2002 with a B.A. in International Political Economy. Julie then went on to complete her Master of Public Administration with an emphasis in International Public Service and Development (IPSD) from Rutgers University.
During her second and third years of the IPSD program Julie served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras, where she worked with local groups in areas of community health, education, and youth development. Upon completion of her Peace Corps service, Julie was invited to work as a Peace Corps Response volunteer with small communities in El Salvador devastated by the aftermath of Hurricane Stan and the untimely eruption of Volcano Ilamatepec. Most recently, Julie worked as the Director of Development for the Alison Bixby Stone School, a high-quality bilingual institution located in Honduras.

Kathleen Goodfellow — Administrative Assistant
Kathleen has over 11 years of executive assistant experience in non-profits. In her previous work she was responsible for planning and executing a yearly pledge program which raised over $1.8 million annually, internal communications and newsletter production, research, corporate and board of trustee reports, records and minutes, and much more.
Kathleen graduated from the University of Washington in 1988 with a B.A. in Drama and a diverse range of other classes under her belt.
Kathleen joined Planned Giving Services, a Seattle-based planned giving consulting firm started and led by Frank Minton, in 2005. PG Calc acquired Planned Giving Services in August, 2005.
