Lead Trust School
Lead trusts are an important consideration for prospects interested in minimizing transfer taxes and making charitable gifts. In this course estate and financial planning concepts such as capital gain taxation, transfer taxes, wealth replacement and qualified retirement plans are related to charitable gift planning.

Who can benefit from this class?
This class is designed for planned giving professionals, estate planners, and trust officers who want to gain confidence with this valuable charitable giving tool. Participants must have a strong background in planned giving or estate planning to attend this class. Advance preparation for the course is not necessary.
Topics Covered
This course covers grantor and non-grantor lead trusts, balloon and “Shark Fin” lead trusts, gift and estate taxation, income taxation, generation skipping taxes, asset selection, investment considerations, and inter-vivos and testamentary lead trusts.
Schedule for the Day
- The session runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Two 15 minute breaks, morning and afternoon with an hour for lunch on your own at noon.
- Continental breakfast will be provided before the start of the session and refreshments during breaks.
- Please be in the room by 8:30 a.m. so that the session may begin on time.
